Registered Clinical Counsellor Opportunity

Friends of Living of Living and Learning Through Loss (LTL) is a charitable non-profit organization that provides supportive services, programs and counselling services to youth between the ages of 13-24 at no cost throughout the southern island. We educate and promote awareness about the importance of supporting young people through grief, loss and bereavement.

LTL is seeking a Registered Clinical Counsellor to join us on a part-time, contract basis.

As an RCC, you will be responsible for counselling youth virtually and eventually in person, through grief, loss and bereavement on a short-term basis.

You will also work alongside other LTL counsellors and the Executive Director in support of community outreach, education, professional trainings and other initiatives to promote the services and mission of LTL.

You possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of counselling experience with youth

  • Familiarity conducting risk assessments and working with vulnerable youth

  • Registration with a provincial or national counselling association

  • Hold current professional liability insurance of at least 2,000,000

  • Able to attend monthly group supervision meetings


  • Master’s Level in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Counselling, Education or related social services field

  • Training and/or experience in group facilitation and psycho-educational program delivery

  • Solid knowledge of grief and loss issues, experiential learning, and group process

  • Experience working with youth between the ages of 13-24


  • A vulnerable sector criminal record check is mandatory

  • 3 references must be supplied
