Youth Referral Form

Learning Through Loss provides a support group for youth aged experiencing grief and loss including:

  • Death or loss of a family member, friend or pet;

  • Impacted by Mental or Physical Illness;

  • Moving to a new home or community;

  • Divorce

  • Struggling with the uncertainty and changes due to pandemic  etc.

Our Virtual Online Counselling Program is supported by Telus, PECSF, United Way and Victoria Foundation. A team of highly trained and qualified registered clinical counsellors are providing this targeted support.

Referrals can be made by anyone.


Our Intake Coordinator receives all referrals and will contact the prospective youth to complete the screening and intake process. If the counselling services become full, youth in need will be put on a waitlist. Requirements and responsibilities for acceptance into the program:

  • Youth aged 13 – 24 who reside within the Capital District Region

  • Voluntary participation and commitment to attending the counselling sessions

  • Participants are not under the influence of alcohol and other drugs
